Moving direct debits question

Don't know if this is the correct forum for this question..........but i'll ask anyway.
As part of our upcoming DMP, in 1 weeks time we will be ready to transfer our essential Direct Debits to our new bank account with smile. All others we will be cancelling in our existing bank as payplan will be in touch with them.
Is it as simple as logging into smile, clicking setup direct debit and entering the name, account number and amount then choosing a date to pay every month?
Or is it totally different? Am I missing something? Do I need to contact BT, Gas, Elec, C&G, etc to notify them of the direct debit change?

Yes you have to contact each company and give them the new details.
If you are changing too close to the date of the DDs, then you have to make manual payments instead - but make sure you tell them that's what you will be doing.Leason learnt :beer:0 -
Thanks - will let them all know before I make the changes.0
