Part-time working from home, is this a con?

Hi, I'm new to the forum so please excuse me if I am covering old ground.

I am looking for part-time work that will fit around my school age children. I've been looking at some of the big job seeking websites and keep coming across ads like this...

http://www.totaljobs.com/JobSearch/JobDetails.aspx?NoExpire=1&JobId=27043171&DCMP=R_EM_JBE_JBE_190107

Going on the premise that anything that looks too good to be true probably is, is this a big con? Getting paid just for transferring money? Is it like that email scam where they get you to transfer the money out before the incoming sum has cleared properly?

Do any of you know of any genuine home-working or is it all a big con?

Thanks,

J

  • These schemes are money laundering scams (and therefore illegal) AFAIK.

Why not apply to be a dinner lady or lollipop lady? I was a lollipop lady for about ten years. If your child is off school with an INSET day and you're at the crossing at another school they can come with you, and if they are off sick, you only need someone to sit with them for around an hour. If you have no lunchtime shift, you can be a dinner lady as well.

Money's not great, but it does fit in with school and you have time off in the day. Retainer paid in school holidays (plus pro-rata annual leave entittlement, which must be taken in school holidays).

Defo a scam and avoid like the plague!!! Supermarkets are usually quite good at flexible hours so you could do from 9.30am until 2.30pm for example or 11 - 3. Phone them all up in your area and ask for application forms etc and whether they will keep your details if they have no current vacancies.
