Tried code but did not update. Will this definately be deducted when processed? Is it better to phone and place order with promo code?

I used offer code PXJP and no discount was applied. I emailed Debenhams to query this and this is the reply I received:

Dear Mrs *********

Thank you for your e-mail.

On checking our records we can advise you that offer PXJP expired on the 19/06/04, therefore can not be applied to your order.

The problem with this website is that it gives you some guff about promo code discounts being applied after your order has been processed so you've got no idea whether they've gone through or not, until it's too late and you've been charged full whack.
