Asda no longer except Internet money off coupons!!

Options
While doing the weekly shop in Asda Chatham last night, Wher handing over my coupons, the lady on the till told me that they no longer excepted the coupons downloaded from the internet. When i asked her why she called the supervisor who said it was due to problem with fake ones being used and Asda were unable to claim the money back. The supervisor also said that they had only started doing this yesterday.
Has anybody else come across this ?

  • I tried to use some clipped out of their magazine the other day and they would accept them. Apparently people have been taking loads of mags and just clipping out the coupons to use so they have stopped it. Don't know if it is the local or national shop policy.

my asda have never accepted internet vouchers, you could get them through the self scan as long as no-one noticed but they were always refused at the till.
the reason i was given was that if people printed 1, they printed 100 and the cash office didn't want the extra work
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

My nearestTesco stopped taking internet coupons some time ago but they still accept them in Waitrose. Don't know whether it is MSE or sales on e-bay but there does seem to be a tightening up in this area and the stores are restricting the number of coupons they will accept on each shop - mainly restricting up to 50% of the cost of the shop or sometimes 5 coupons.
It is a concession so I feel we all just have to be thankful to save some money.
