Could someone tell me where the "Fast food restaurant" lagislation came from? By that I mean, to qualify as a fast food restaurant, they must have served the order within 3 minutes of ordering. I read on this site a while ago that this was the case & people were getting their money back all over the country when at McDonalds. I have even had success with this, however I tried again the other day when I waited nearly 10 mins and they refused to give me my money back. All I need to know is where the legislation can be found as the manager of the restaurant was so arrogant, I want to get my facts right before I let rip into Mcd's.
Please help me knock this T***pot down a few pegs
Thanks in advance:mad:0 -

i cant believe what i have just read ^^^^
why on earth would you go into a food outlet with that attitude is beyond me
i wouldnt want to eat anything that has taken under 3 mins to order, prepare, cook and serve.
if that is your attitude then i would insist you were out of the place in 3 mins after you picking up your orderIf You See Someone Without A Smile......Give Them One Of Yours0 -
It's the service, not the cooking which must be completed within 3 mins.........0

Bad mum, to be honest it's fairly common to have your food within a minute at McDonalds, let alone 3. They have stacks of pre-wrapped burgers in the little slide things, the server just has to grab it. The only thing which can cause a delay is if you order something 'weird' like a veggie burger, or if you come in first thing, normally. Otherwise 3 minutes is normal. Of course it takes more than 3 minutes to cook, but fast food chains all precook food... as do a lot of restaurants, in fact!0

Hm so make a massive order and then get your money back sweet lol0

I would be surprised if the 'manager' in question could even tie his shoelaces on his own, never mind argue about legislation with you
What a load of scrollocks
A job is a job, there's no need to look down your nose at someone because of what they do for work.

The 3 Minute Mcdonald thing does vary according to what you order and is not 'legislation' as far as I know, its a company policy (I think) - Fillet of Fish has a serve time of 3.5 minutes for example and they dont hold these on the slides as ready to serve items for obvious reasons. Also if you have an exceptionally large order that would not count as does early morning and late evening just before closing.
Generally in McDonalds, the times which all sites aim for are
- Offer service within a minute of joining the queue.
- Standard Food items served within 3 minutes. So if you buy obscure items or request burgers minus ingredients etc, 20 Pack of McNuggets (yup, you can still get those allegedly) , the expected service time changes and doesnt count.
Stores should also 'hold' a number of items ready to serve at all times during busy periods - eg x large fries, x Big Macs etc.
I dont know about any Fast Food legislation and the 3 minute rule at all - as far as I knew, the 3 minute thing was a McDonalds policy. Otherwise, surely everyone would be claiming free pizza's at Pizza Express stores etc.0 -
Having worked for a Mcdonalds up until this weekend, I can tell you a lot of stuff does take less than 3 minutes to cook!0
