Options
Hi

Redoing the bathroom and need tiles, Im in the newtownabbey area, where is a good place that is reasonable to buy tiles please?

I need 36 sq yards so is going to be costly, the tiler is quoting £14 a sq yard is that the norm

Thanks in advance

Hi my hubby a tiler - tho he's in bed at the min! Will ask him tomorrow if he could recommend somewhere for tiles - have you seen one that you like? Will also ask if that a competitive rate.

in fairness £14 is reasonably cheap - but as everything it depends!
is he supplying adhesive\grout and is he doing any prep?
what state are the walls\floor in at the moment?

what sort of thing have you got in mind?

The adhesive and grout is another £140 on top of that and he isnt doing any prep work we are taking of the current tiles etc ourselves

Sounds a bit more like it.
i'd beware that the prep may get expensive as your likely to ruin the plaster.

quote itself sounds reasonable. usual warnings apply - do you know the tiler, have you seen his work etc
  • Hi

here a great tile place in Boucher Road- as long as you are sure of your measurements they seem to sell of end of stock job lots as cheap as £1 per metre.

I got some cracking floor tiles in it about 6 months ago and worked out about £60 - equivalent ones in B&q were £400!!!

    its worth a look!

  • sorry- can't remember the name of it but if you drive round to where Matalan and TK maxx are and go to the far end (closer to new look etc) you will see it just beside the car showrooms. Big signs for it on the way in
(if you can hold fire until tomorrow afternoon I will be down that way tomorrow and will get the name then)
