I can see both sides of this, the money is provided to the parents for the child but so many parents use it as extra money for cigarettes etc. When my kids became teens we discussed the child benefit & they were all given some of it to spend as they liked each month. Currently, my 14 year old gets £20 put into his bank, £20 pays for his phone contract & the rest goes into a savings account for him, as we think he could get it stopped within the next 2 years. I will then be able to continue paying for his phone contract & give him money to spend. I hope you can work this out with your parents, try & negotiate
