Unknown Consultation Fee - Now with DCA!

A friend of mine was recently referred to a private hospital to have a consultation about having a mole removed a few weeks back.

Recently she received an invoice in the post from the hospital for £120 referring back to the consultation. However, nothing was mentioned of any charges during or even prior to her going. Since then it has been passed to a DCA who have indicated they require payment before the 14th.

As she is disputing the payment do you know what powers the DCA have to recollect the money? She did sign a form to indicate she was not claiming any payments that may be due through insurance but the point is she wasn't advised of any charges. Obviously she is challenging the invoice but isn't getting anything back except from idle threats from the DCA.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Many Thanks
