Clip in hair extensions?

Options
Hello all,

I have been thinking of buying some of those 'clip in' type real hair extensions. They look easy enough to get in (even for a complete nerk like me)

Does anyone have any experience with them? Any advice?

An aquantaince of mine wears them, and they look fabulous, you cannot tell she has them in - but I daren't grill her too much as I don't know her that well!

My sixteen year old neice was bought some of these for her birthday. The extensions come in one long length, which you have to cut to size. You then need to attach the clips to the extensions, and attach them to your real hair. I think you do really need someone who knows what they're doing, to show you the ropes.

Sorry I can't be much more help.:(

I've used Sallys own brand, Foxy Locks and Halo hair extensions. All of them came with the clips already sewn in. They are long so depending on your hair style you may need to have them cut to style.

Its worth researching the brands and finding ones that will work for you. Personnaly I love Foxy Locks even if they are a little pricey.

I managed to put them in and style them fine (I'm cack handed so if I can do it anyone can!!!)

you can get cheaper on ebay but i found the wave very realistic on these and they are so easy to put in. sadly i have changed my hair colour now but just seen they now have them in cherry brown so think i may treat myself to a new pair.:o
my sister in law who is black so is used to the whole nightmare of having hair weaved in was really impressed when i wore them on holiday and was suprised they only cost 45 and were so easy to just clip in as she had paid tons before getting her hair done!

I have some at home - clips already sewn in and they come in various sizes so there's a few to do the back of your head and a few for the front - they're basically these ones but I actually bought them from a hairdresser

The ones I have can be straightened or curled, but can't be dyed. Basically they're synthetic but heat-proof and look far more natural and like human hair.

Easy peasy to put in - I've used them just for special occassions and also for day to day wear when I was growing my hair out.

My first set I brought from an afro carribean hair supplier. They were recommended to me by my hairdresser - she told me what colour to get to match my own colour and said she would fit them and then trim them to size for me. They looked bloody amazing.

My hair is about shoulder length but it is very, very, very fine and nothing I can add really adds any amount of volume to it. I used the extensions to add a little bit more length but mostly to make my hair appear fuller.

I found them really easy to use. You can buy them with clips already added with instructions on which areas to apply them to and you can buy them in different lengths too. I would advise taking them to your regular hairdressers so even if they don't alter the length they can feather the ends to make them look more like the natural ends of you hair rather than just straight accross.

  • Why not just grow your own hair? :)

My hair doesn't grow past a certain length. It gets to shoulder length and it never goes below that I have been trying to grow it for at least 6 years and it never gets any longer as because it is so fine it just breaks off once it gets to a certain age :(

Plus you don't always use extensions to add length your can use them to add volume to very thin fine hair :)

Well, i took the plunge and got some of the extensions. I am very pleased with them. They come with the clips attached to them and the wefts look so natural, completely match the colour of the hair. I put them in in about 20 minutes, which for a first go isnt bad, as I was trying to figure out how best to fit them as there are a few of different length wefts etc. They looked completely natural when I had them in, very pleased indeed.

in the mornings before work there is no way i would bother enough to do my hair like this, but for weekends and special occasions I will definatley be rocking these!! I think they are a brilliant buy
