Hi

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to change the ownership of the house I have to my partners name or joint names.
We would like to remortgage to get a better deal but I only work part-time now after having our twins to don't qualify under my earnings alone.

Yes it is possible. Depending upon the circumstances of your personal finances and relationship, may be advisable to speak to a solicitor.

You can't transfer it to the partner solely (that's a sale!), but you can transfer it into joint names. Depending on the figures involved, it is conceivable that there may be a stamp duty liability if you are doing that, so do take care.

Thanks for that. It is complicated as I put the house in my name as my partner is trying hard to divorce his ex wife and we are frightened she might find a way to claim for part of it!:mad:
