Last year they went to half price on the Lego site on 2nd December. There were far more City ones available than Kingdom ones though (so probably more City than Star Wars this year).
I have a City one that I picked up then & I bought the Star Wars from Amazon on pre-order.... (I am that sad lol).

Hoping to pick up the City one cheap again this year for next... (doubt my bunch would notice the date on them).

There's a flap that lifts up (the whole front of the box) - the doors are underneath. Do make the item up each day though as last year I had extra bits on several days & was missing a head on another day (had no problems getting it sorted out by Lego though - great customer service).
