Won tickets, didnt notify me

Hi all,

I was googling my name today as I have previously found a couple of wins this way and came accross a post on facebook saying I had won some tickets. Unfortunately the event was almost a month ago and they didnt contact me so its too late.

They posted a comment under my comment saying I was one of the winners and to email them but didnt send me a message or email so I didn't know I had won. The comp had no terms and conditions and it doesnt say anywhere to check back to see if you have won. Any advice?

facebook comps are notorious for this , it helps to search for yopurself on f/b every few days sometimes if you arew a known mser people will inform you if they see your name but i doubt there is anything you can do about it as they usually say check back to find out who won bla bla !!

I know how you feel I have had the same and missed a win and from all my friends on FB no one messaged me. I found one on google very late and luckily they honoured it. Lately on a couple of small wins a few kind msers have messaged me, otherwise I would have missed them. If I see a name I recognise I will message and point them towards the post because so many FB comps post on their page and expect you to claim. There is now (recent) a great page 'Winners Circle' where winners names for lots of these types of wins are kindly reposted by msers but you still have to check for your name. I can't offer any advice, I'm sorry but hope you get a nicer win to make up for it.

I'm sorry, but i really don't think there's anything you can do. I was actually going to start a thread on this as i find it extremely annoying how they just announce you are a winner on facebook instead of contacting you personally.

I actually had this happen to me recently. I didn't win tickets though. I won a bag worth about £80. I found out i won after googling my name and realised i won back in August. I e-mailed them asap, and they said they'd send it out to me. But, i'm still waiting...

I had the same thing happen and had won two things but they said they would honour one of them as they didnt have the other prize now. have never received it and give up now. to me it should be common courtesy to just let the winners know , it seems like some companies dont want you to claim the prize. join the winners circle like I have and quite often my facebook friends tag me or I tag them. its a great circle of friendly compers. good luck xx

I believe that under all the new FB changes companies can no longer message you which is going to make wins even harder to spot!

Oh thanks for that - found my name on a Womans Own comp from 30th August ... emailed them to see if it's too late ... something to do with Maybelline - fingers crossed!
