Hello There
I Wonder if You Can help Me.
In Brief I Was A Frquent User Of lastminute.com & Collected lastminutemiles.
I Collected enough points for a free flight to New York.
Then 4 Years ago I had a near fatal Car Accident (Not My Fault) &
have been left Disabled. Only recently I have started to be able to
use my Computer. I recently was advised that a Trip my be a good
idea towards my rehabilitation & contacted them as I couldn't find
the link anywhere on my Account to reem the miles.
I e-mailed them & they replied by saying that they had stopped their
Mileage Program. I e-mailed again & explained my situation but they
never replied.
Can they do this? I spent all the Money mounting up the points surely
they cannot take them away?
Please Could Anyone Help Me?
I REALLY Appreciate Your Time.
Kindest Regards,
Nick Martin.

Hi,
firstly I'd like to say how very sorry I am to hear that you that you have had such a horrific experience. I hope that you continue to make good recovery.
Re: the lastminute.com reward programme - you mean where you could receive a certain no. of points (minutes) related to the cost of the purchase, which could then be redeemed for chocolates, champagne, a helicopter flight, weekend away in Bath or a flight to New York, depending on how many points you had earned.
IIRC, from about the end of 2003, there was a notice of some sort on their website saying that the programme would be coming to an end and after Dec. '03 no further points would be awarded. I think there was something to the effect that points then had to be redeemed by a certain month in 2004 (something like April or June).
I had enough points to get the weekend away in Bath, but like you missed out as I didn't submit a request before the programme finished - this too after I had made enquiries with lastminute.com customer services about details on how to redeem my points.
I'm sorry, I doubt very much you can do anything about it now, in my case when I contacted them after the closing date I was told that it was too late to do anything about it.
I'm sorry I can't give you more positive information.
BTW, I don't think this is the right forum to post this request in - the points were gained through making purchases as opposed to being a freebie.0 -
Hi Nick,
I was really sorry to hear about your situation but don't know a lot about lastminute.com and I couldn't see anything useful in that link, it may be a referral too.
All I can suggest is that if you hear nothing back from them to write a letter of complaint. But write it to the head of the entire company, basically the person highest up, not just the customer service department. You're more likely to get a response, and one that you're after if you do it this way. I just googled it and the CEO is Ian McCraig, but can't find any address, it's worth trying to look for it.
