Thanks for the advice..Ive literally just emailed Asda and I will let you know what they say...

I emailed ASDA last week and a nice lady called me back. She said that as long as you buy the product there are no restrictions to using printed coupons. She even emailed me conformation of the policy.
  • OMG! Yes I agree please don't take it to the drivel thread -

I did come on to post something couponny but cant for the life of me remember now with all the do's and don'ts.

    its them that are scarey.

Thanks for that..I think I was more taken back by how rude n curt this sales assistant was with me...I was leaving the store and I could still hear her saying to the cashier "we dont take these anymore" All for the sake of a £1..

  • Have just come back from Ts. I used several coupons - all pdf ones - and the supervisor came over to the SA, checked all coupons, checked I'd bought the items, and the correct quantity per coupon, took them away to check with somebody else saying 'there had been something about these from head office' but she didn't say what. Don't know what 'had come from head office' but my store is usually really good about coupons. I also had some refused on Saturday - again pdf ones. Would be interesting if anybody else has had their coupons scrutinised today!

    hi MAGs
having this thread coupon only and separate thread for coupon chat in theory sounds great.
    but
we only have to look back to when IS wanted/needed to split the thread and the trouble that caused.
to realise that no matter what the title says people will always chat/post non related link and yes bicker/disagree on this thread.

    nice idea though

    .

Personally I think this should now just be a coupon posted thread and the words "coupon chat" removed from the title.

Yes, there is a drivel thread but that doesn't mean I assume that a secondary drivelly thread could be started for those who don't want to join that one or indeed a "lets have a bicker" thread.

I reckon - a coupon post only thread and NO chat whatsoever would get this sorted once and for all.

Not quite sure where to start on this post, but as it's me that started the latest problems on the thread I felt I should post something.

I complained about the way that a post of mine was replied to by MT as I was somewhat disgruntled. As others have said sometimes MT's posts don't come across very well. However when you read something you don't always read it how it's been said, I'm sure MT doesn't intend her posts to come across as brusque or rude and is probably disappointed that they're sometimes read that way. BT's can sound very harsh too and I know not all BT's posts are like that, they often sound like 'don't like what you say, go somewhere else'. The same communication problems happen in the spoken word, what's said isn't always what's heard.

MT does a great job keeping the 1st posts updated and has added the shopping list since taking over as 1st post updater (not really sure what the name for that person should be). I do miss the friendly chatty banter that was here, it was one of the things that drew me into the thread a few years ago but I'm aware that has gone now so I go to the drivel thread for the happy banter. Anyone wanting a friendly chat, that's the place to go - some great shopping lists too.

Please could I ask that if anyone wants to comment on my grumbles or anything that anyone else has posted in relation to it they do it by PM as the drivel thread wasn't set up for somewhere to go to for disagreements. MT has often said not to post loads of thank you's for her on the thread so I'm sure if you want to send supportive messages now she'd rather they be done by PM (hope I've got that right MT), equally any other comments you have for me or any other posters. Let's not clog the thread any more than it has been already.
Hope no-one minds me posting this here, I'm very much hoping it end the the latest grumbles.

Hopefully the thread can go back to being about coupons.

Sorry for causing any issues. K
  • I agree with MAG maybe a "bicker" or "debate" thread would be a good idea.Let peope rant without others needing to get involved. Then any such posts could be redirected there.
What say you MT and BT??

    hi karen
thank you for this post and i'm proberly a little to blame too( truce :D)
your right how one types something is not nessessarily how another would read it.
i would never intentionally be rude/try to upset anyone. thats not in the spirit of the thread.
sadly as more have joined the thread it was never going to stay the same chatty thread it once was. to many personalities to clash:)

you are totally right about the pm's , i really don't mind that at all. helps keep the thread clear.

Ok, back to business ;) ,

today I purchased 4 packs of walls sausage rolls at tesco's...
    £1.50 per pack , Buy 2 for £2.50.

Each pack has a code that you enter into their web site to see if you win anything. On all four of my packs I won .....

    a Wall's 50p coupon ,

The coupon lasts 2 weeks from the date its printed.
However , I only printed 4 coupons from one of the wins,
and my 3 other wins are sent to my email , so I can print them when needed in the future.

So if you buy 2 packs with 2 coupons they will cost 75p each :D.

    hth.
    Kindness costs nothing :)
