bleach in dishwasher-bubbles everywhere!

Hi all

Husband has put half a bottle of bleach in the dishwasher to unblock it and we had a kitchen full of suds and bleach smells!

Any ideas how to get rid of this mess and unblock washer??

Normal soap bubbles can be killed with a small amount of silicon.
Car dashboard spray or back to black tyre/bumper type spray works a treat.
I used this when I brought a secondhand dishwasher which had had the rinse aid filled with washing up liquid (loads and loads of foam).

Not sure if it'll work with bleach, but worth ago if you've got some.

oops, the bad news is youll need to buy a new dishwasher, your dishwasher has a chamber inside with resin crystals, these act as a water softner which is why you add the salt(it replenishes the crystals), the bleach will have killed the resin in the chamber, soon your washing will come out with white streaks and cloudy run marks on it---

If its a decent make you should be able to replace parts if they have been damaged.

Pull out the dishwasher and see if its the machine which is blocked OR the pipe, if its the pipe its much easier to unblock than the machine itself

You could try ringing the manufacturer's helpline- (I find Bosch very helpful)
they may be able to advise?
