I have turned my thoughts to our xmas eve hamper and I thought it would be good to start a shiny new thread where we can share our ideas and note down any good bargains that we find As always I am going to have:

• PJs
• Hot chocolate
• Xmas mugs
• DVD
• Sweeties
• Candy canes
• Board games
• Colouring books
• Santas plate
• Snuggly socks
• Santas treats
• Reindeer food
• Crafting stuff
• Xmas bedtime book

My Dd is going to be 8 by xmas and I want to enjoy all these traditions while she is still young enough to have fun with them. Mind you I am in my 30s and still love my hamper :rotfl:

Brilliant!! This is my first year doing a xmas eve hamper, so im looking for some ideas. Do you put your hamper out in the morning or give it to the children during the day?? Do you wrap the stuff in it or just present it nicely?? sorry to ask so many questions!! x

i want to do these this year for ME, OH, our daughter , and my 3 nieces. Really need help though...

OH? Doesn't wear Pjs, lol any ideas?
DAUGHTER - she will be 3 just after xmas, but has special needs, she wont really understand much about xmas, without going into too much detail, she is at hte stange of about a 1 year old, any ideas? i dnt want to put toys in htere as i said she wont understand too much (its just for us really lol)

NIECES - they are 3 months, 18 months & 7 - i would like to try and keep costs down with these, otherwise it will gt too expensive.

Any ideas greatfully recieved!

im looking to make one for the first time and am keeping it simple to be opened after tea so will just be pjs, book, short dvd maybe and plate etc to get ready for santa..no sweets or they wont go to sleep lol

this will also be my first time doing a hamper. i have 2 boys, aged 4 and the other will turn 1 just before xmas. not sure whether i should do a big family one or do each our own. what do other people tend to do?

I'm doing these for my nieces and nephews. What kind of box have people used? I don't know whether to do one hamper per brother and sister or do them one each. They are 5 and 7. And 1 and 7. Any ideas?

We do a family one. My kids will be 5 and 7 and are already thinking about what they will get from the elves as much as what Santa will bring them!! This year we are at my parents and I will be putting a pot of gold in for each of us.

I usually wrap a giant cardboard box in xmas paper and use that, cheap and environmentally friendly

I am doing a Family christmas eve hamper that we will open in the morning. This is the first year I have done it so am sooo excited.
Upto now I have got

- Peppa Pig PJs for daughter(18mths)
-pre-Ordered Peppa Pig christmas dvd compilation from play.com(3.99)
-Alien Pjs for son (9yr old)
-Walt disney Christmas Carol dvd
-Christmas bunper fun pack- One giant christmas colouring book, one christmas wordsearch and one christmas activity book(B+M 99p)
-Ordered a personalised tshirt to be used as a pyjama top from vistaprint for hubby, has got a pic of the kids on it.
-Ordered a personalised tshirt from vistaprint for me but got xxl so hope its like a nightie but if not it will be a big baggy pj top lol.
-santa key

Thats it up to now.
We usually go out on christmas eve but we are going to have a fun filled day of playing games and colouring and watching films.

Hello,
Just wanted to let you know homebargains have some lovely christmas bits in at the moment. It had all the usual cards and wrap etc, but also has christmas craft sets, books, colouring books, childs cross stitch kit, Santa stop here signs and Santas magic key.
They were at really good prices from 49p upwards.
I am very impressed with the key (69p) its lovely and a lot cheaper than the one I saw in B&Q ( £2 for small £3 for large).

I have got some crafty bits as well for the christmas eve hamper
Oh and candy canes at 69p for 12, bargain
