I used to play in the cellar as a child for hours on end but have never ever met one of those spiders.
I think someone's having you on babyshoes:rotfl: .
I hope so! I fully intend to own a house with a cellar one day!Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
Can be used as a pantry area for bulk purchase bargains - Wickes metal shelving is pretty cheap and very sturdy and plastic containers such as sold at Wilkinsons to put everything in and protect against slight damp if any. (If there's a socket for the freezer then I'm assuming no major damp issues) Also good place to store home made beer, ginger beer, wine etc. Even if you're not keeping it for long it's good to have a place to keep it where you're not falling over it every day.0

The meat hooks were used for hanging the multiple murder victims. Don't lift the flagstone that covers the well because it's the gateway to hell and the !!!!!s will try to come out to get you at halloween Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!
:j:THahaha lol or Trapdoor - because there's something down there
Or the ring argh!
I would put a video camera down there on a rope
It would be excellent for storing stuff in the winter - cheese, wine etc anything that could do with cold storage really eggs, veg, you could put shelves and marble or granite surfaces which would keep everything extra cold or you could grow mushrooms!DMP 2021-2024: £30,668 £0 🥳

Thanks for the ideas guys! Got some plastic interlocking shelves to go down there for storage to keep stuff off the floor, nothing we can do with the freezer as it's almost at roof height. I lifted the cover again and it's definatley a well as it has a pulley system attached at the top and is more than big enough for a bucket. At least if we have a burst water main then we're sorted for water, now thats MSE :money::beer:553780080

We live in a @200 year old ex pub and when we first viewed it there was a motorbike workshop in the cellar, now our rabbit lives their (and he has done for many years, well before wallace and gromet did it
) but we can keep almost anything down their (in the none rabbit areas) but electricals dont do well unless you keep a dehumidifyer on constantly, even dry cellars are humid.
My son spends hours each day on our cellar both with his rabbit and on his hobbys, he has done for ten years and the spiders are scared of him and have certainly never attempted to bite him.0 -
