Tesco M*nsfield staff tried to limit internet coupons

I was in Mr T's in M*nsfield (Chsterfield road) yesterday with a good collection of coupons, as I went through the till the Cashier said she had to check if she can take them all.

The CS manager came over and said she would only allow me to use 10 and Tesco's policy now is to limit the number of internet coupon that can be used.

I asked to see this policy change and she said I would have to ask head office so I asked her to note down her name and the head office address. She told me to come over to CS desk and she will give me the info.

I then changed my mind and asked to speak to someone there, she happily phoned the head office and passed the phone to me to speak to them once she had told them I had a complaint. I didn't have a complaint, I just wanted confirmation of this policy change.

The lady on the other end of the phone appeared surprised at the complaint, she asked me to confirm a couple of times what the coupons where and if I had bought the items and then she asked me to hold while she checked.

When she returned, she asked to speak to the CS manager who had refused to take more than 10 coupons. It was obviously to tell her she was wrong but rather than say 'OK' and move on she didn't she spent a good 5 minutes on the phone insisting that store had been told they MUST limit the use of internet coupons.

Eventually she finished the phone call, apologised to me and gave me cash for my remaining coupons.

The moral of the story is don't accept their word if your coupons are refused, there is NO limit in place on any manufacturers coupons, be it internet or printed.

On side note, hi to the lady who was told by her 'friend' about the Christmas biscuits selection which are priced at £5.99 (bogof) in store but scan at £2

Why put a * in Mansfield, don't you want anyone to know you went to the Mansfield store or is it because you live in Mansfield

Or is it because Tesco Mansfield staff tried to limit internet coupons

Nah just put in the proper town name !
  • Its still a pity you had to 'go through all that' just to get the coupons 'accepted'

How many did you have by the way? lol

I usually don't use more than 10 in one transaction as I don't want the bother and risk of them being refused and have been ok so far
