Hi,

I write to ask if it is possible for me to ask my HR dept and my Occupational health department where i work for copies of all information they have about me on their files.
Could anyone point me in the direction of a template letter asking for this or any act of parliment i could quote when asking my employer for this information.
Any information would be appreciated
Thanks
Gary

Freedom of Information Act. They have 40 days to provide all information they have for you, and may ask for £10 to cover the request.

my compnay intranet site has a form for making such a request.

why don't you just ask before getting all "act of parliament" about it? They'll probably just say yes.

Nothing to do with FoI, its a subject access request under data protection act 1998.

Sorry but it is NOT the FOI Act. FOI replies to public authorities and the like.

If a person wants to see what information an organisation (including employer) holds on them they submit a "subject access request". This is covered by the Data Protection Act. More information can be found here

As Emmzi says though, firstly check whether there is a Data Protection Policy at work and if there is follow the procedure given in that.
