A couple of mine have been used for chutneys so smell a bit "vinegary". Instead of replacing them with new, can I use them again? Would bicarb of soda rid them of the smell?

OK, what about.....put them in a jug, pour on boiling water and add some lemon juice.
(THe boiling water in a jug is what I do to sterilise new ones. I'm thinking the lemon juice will get rid of the smell).
Bicarb might well do the same job, I haven't tried it (shock! horror!) myself.
You've certainly got nothing to lose in any case :-)0 -
Good idea - thanks - will try.0
