Has my F.A sold me a bum deal?

I personally feel Conrad is a tad 'rash' with his comments. But to be fair, sometimes he has a good point - though not on this occasion.
Fees free brokers, working from home, writing 1 or 2 cases a week, are earning good money. It doesn't matter that they don't charge fees, if they are giving good advice, and recommend appropriate insurances then the income will come along from this too.
Back to the poster's comments, what concerns me is that the adviser said he must buy insurance through him.
