John Lewis - wedding list freebies?

Do John Lewis ever have special offer events when if you sign up for a wedding list there you get some kind of freebie or gift card etc? I see Debenhams are doing this this weekend (£50 giftcard plus bubbly) but I think we're going to go with John Lewis. We've got a while though so just wondered whether we should bide our time and wait for an offer?!

I dont think John Lewis do although you could always give them a call and ask if its something they have done in the past. Its unlikely though. I knew that Debenhams did it regularly but Ive also heard really bad reports about their service so Im assuming there is a reason why they incentivise (their stuff isnt as nice either). I would definately go with John Lewis (and will be too when I start planning). Its my favourite shop ever!! Had a spending spree there for furniture the other day and I just love it! :drool:0

What sort of evidence do they need that you're getting married or civil partnershipped, and when do you get the gift card to spend?
Because you could just use it for buying Xmas presents with ...A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

You don't need to have any evidence that you are getting married but you'll only get the £50 gift card after your wedding and only if more than £250 was spent on the gift list. According to the advisor I spoke with, the average list for a wedding with a guest list of 100 is around £2-3k .. mine is £950 and I feel like that's excessive.. but lots of people have asked where our list was.. so felt like it was a grown up thing to do! Was fun, too!"What day is it?"
"It's today," squeaked Piglet.
"My favorite day," said Pooh."0 -
We set up our gift list with John Lewis a few months ago, then returned a couple of weeks ago to go put items on our list and were given a voucher for coffee and a pastry each from their cafe, and I was also given a voucher for a free makeover for myself and a friend with one of the beauty brands, which I thought was a nice touch.0
