£2.99 John Frieda Hair Dye (Normally £6.9-8.99)

Options
Hiya
I found several different shades of the posh John Frieda hair dye in my local Superdrug (a medium-ish sized store). It is normally between £6.99 and £8.99 depending on the offers on. The labels are plain white compared to the usual pink and white ones, so you have to look hard to spot them
I am hoping it isn't just my shop (Lincoln city centre) that has them. They also had Excell 10 (I think thats the name), a Loreal colour, and some other Loreal brands of hair dye in reds and browns, all also £2.99.
Dirt cheap, especially if you're a serial dye-er like me!
Hope this helps people. Would love to know if you can find them at your own stores?

  • Is that the foam one? I wonder if it's colours they're discontinuing - I normally use the light red dye but have been unable to find it the past couple of months, I think it's been stopped. Shame really! Thanks for the tip, will try to pop into town tomorrow.

Yes, it's the foam one! I am an ash blonde girl so I was quite lucky, but the Loreal ones had loads of red dyes at £2.99- a bit dark though? Good luck!
  • I can confirm I saw it too, was only one shade of mid blonde though.
So so SO tired of being ripped off, and mislead
    Hope sharing saves some pain.

My housemate got some L'Oreal dye that was priced at £6.30 but it scanned at 99p! I think it was L'Oreal Recital in Frosted Chestnut.
  • I'm not surprised at all that the John Frieda foam is reduced - the colour I tried was absolute rubbish! I am a natural blonde and their palest "blonde" shade turned my hair an ugly mousy brown.

I was so miffed... I counted the days until 4 weeks had elapsed and I could re-colour. I would never use it again.

    Definite thumbs down!
  • I'm of the same opinion! For what was meant to be a premium product, they have damaged their reputation and ruined people's hair colour no end. Luckily I didn't get around to trying it when the free promotion came out, but nevertheless I shall still never risk buying any kind of hair dye off them in the future.

I used Deep Cherry Brown on my dark brown hair and thought it was excellent. The red hasn't faded off too much and with most other hair dyes i've found they just wash off my greys at the first wash and leave me with very noticeable stark white strands in otherwise very dark hair - not this one, after two weeks they are still more or less covered. Very impressed with it! Bought another two boxes while it was £5 a box in Asda. Its usually around £10 a box unless you're lucky enough to find it on offer.
