Council Tax Rebanding- Have i shot myself in the foot?

Options
I recently went on the DirectGov website and noticed there were about 5 out of around 50 houses on my street banded as E whilst the rest (apart from one G) are F. I therefore contacted the VOA office as a bit of a punt to say my house should therefore be E not F. Later I checked what value my house was in 1991 and it appears to suggest it should be a G not F or E.

Now I am worried I am going to get rebanded to G as a result of a reckless challenge. I was was wondering if there is anyone out there who knows how this works and whether they think I might have shot myself in the foot?:(

If the VOA do check your band and believe it is incorrect, then CT law allows them to increase the band. However the increase cannot be backdated.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
