Hi everyone,
I didn't realise this until today when I picked up a leaflet in store, but Lidl are now accepting credit cards as well as debit cards.
Get your cashback credit cards out then!
Info is on this link (on date of posting): http://www.lidl-ni.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/SID-36351946-40D67A44/lidl_ni_ie/hs.xsl/5691.htm

Could it be that Lidi is organised on an all-Ireland basis. They have an ".ie" web address for their NI shops rather than a .co.uk or .com address.
That is why they make people pay for their their carrier bags I presume as it is the law in the South.
Cannot understand why they do not have baskets though - I do not think that is an Ireland thing.0 -
I shopped in Lidl 2 weeks ago and they wouldn't accept the customer's in front of me CC, I live in London.
If it happens in all Lidl's I can see the prices rising to cover Lidl's charges.:grinheart “Truly Great Madness Cannot Be Achieved Without Significant Intelligence.”:grinheart0 -
No Amex, so no BMI points for me.0

Well at least (unlike Dunne's Stores) they have small sized trolleys, which I think are much better than baskets.0 -

Lidl have always charged for carriers in England - as this is along the lines of most German stores where you are expected to take your own bag - or be charged dearly0 -

I see, just assumed wrongly. I should have read the following first:
http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/SID-406404C5-42EF64B4/lidl_uk/hs.xsl/6111.htm
They mention both bags and baskets, but give no reason for not having baskets.0 -

They dont offer baskets because of cost
Baskets are stolen as matter of course from supermarkets, as are trolleys if they dont have the deposit system0 -
Look what I found - Lidl has it's own NI website now!
