OH christmas gift suggestion

Hello

OH and I are expecting our first baby just a few weeks before xmas. I'm being super organised getting as much done as I can now but I'm stuck on what to get him.

I have him a couple of small items but I'd like to get him something special to mark our first christmas as a family. Nothing too expensive, babies are reasonably expensive anyway :)

What can I get him? Any ideas appreciated.

Thank you.

Rather than getting him something why not organise for you to both go out one night and get a baby sitter etc sorted in advance. You could put all the details on a card or paper etc and present it nicely in an envelope. I quite often do things like that because my dh never asks for anything and if he sees it he buys it, so xmas and birthdays are hard.
  • i think giving him a new baby is a pretty hard gift to top!:D

Why not make him hamper, new warm pj's for the long nights ahead being up with the baby, some nice coffee, red bull, lovely fresh shower gel, snacks and maybe some men's face cream to keeps the under eye bags at bay lol sorry I'm not good at this thing but also maybe a little card from new baby with a magazine???

How about a 'Baby's first christmas' christmas tree ornament? I've got one and every year when we put the ornaments on, then it reminds me of our 1st xmas together.
  • Last year I had a chritsmas tree ornament made for my Dad that was me, my dad and my brother with Santa hats on and holding a plaque saying Merry Christmas, with our little cat poking out underneath. It was our last year as a family in the house as my brother was in the process of buying his own so I wanted somethign to mark it. I got it made by a lady with a page on facebook so it was personalised and cost £11.50 so definately didnt break the bank!

That sounds lovely, do you know who the lady is or the Facebook page??
  • What about;
    (i) A voucher for a family portrait at a local photographers.
(ii) A collage of photos of the two of you through the years.
(iii) a nice bottle of whiskey (you could personalise the label).

    Happy shopping!

Some nice ideas thank you. I have already ordered a baby first christmas ornament for my friend actually. Don't know my babies gender or name yet so will have to order another as late as possible.

This sounds nice, I'd love to know more too.

I have his personalised card ready from baby already. Maybe the hamper idea with a survival type kit would be good. Coffee and moisturiser sound good, he has anew dressing gown and he has more PJ's than anyone I know lol (I'm wearing them all at the mo)

I must say I agree but I'd like to get something special he can keep. Not sure my nail marks in his hand will be permanent enough!

I use this comapny https://www.snobs gifts.co.uk for the personalised items, I got my husband a picture of the kids on a dog tag and another year a key ring plus had it engraved. The prices are quite good and the service has always been good, you could get a lovely photo of daddy and baby or all three of you and get it engraved on to a tag or something else, my hubby had this http://www.snobsgifts.co.uk/stainless-steel-dog-tag-necklace-p-313.html
He loved it but then it suited his style x

When pregnant with DS, I bought DH a vest that said "I love Daddy" or something similar. Not our usual taste but a "jokey" present which we have kept.

My brother was bought these default
when he had his first baby, they come in lots of other colours from here

Otherwise a voucher for fingerprint jewelry, I used this lady, she sends a kit out which you then send back, so he would have something to "open". (there are plenty of others and there might be one more local to you) However metal prices have soared and the pricing is now much more than what I paid, but it could be combined with Bday/valentines/fathers day etc.
