Yeah, Amazon is ok. It is pretty much the same really. I did some of my selling on play.com, which was more successful that amazon, and I don't think they took any money from me.0

Hi
My only word of advice is to double check the postal costs - I ended up out of pocket and minus a book because of this.

There are some useful tips in the first couple of posts on this thread- as above though, watch the charges- they are considerably higher than ebay.

I have recently started books on Amazon, currently they are my own books, so am listed as a private seller. However, am thinking of selling books online from home as a business.
Finding it very slow, but much easier than E-Bay. The other thing I have found is trying to get people to leave feedback is like getting blood out of a stone. This obviously doesn't help build your ratings/standing.
As with E Bay there is a restriction on the postage cost, which certainly isn't enough to cover heavy books, so bear that in mind.
One of the other posts suggested selling on play.com, having looked at their terms, I do not think it is any better.
I think Amazon has good coverage and with specialist categories is a better bet.MSE Addiction, should come with a health warning:money:0 -
I've sold a lot of my old psych university textbooks on there. My method was to check the cheapest price for the condition, weigh the book, and see what I got out of it after postage and fees. If it was less than £5 I didn't bother. They've gone quite well on there, especially in the lead up to exams and then again in the lead up to the new semester

My old college and uni books have sold quite well too. The fees are ridiculous though. Plus, like my law book, the £2.80 allowance for postage didn't even scratch the surface of how much it really cost to send!
