LLP and IT Contractors

in Cutting tax
I am an IT contractor and have been approached recently by Rousseau International claiming they can improve my net take home each week via an LLP tax structure. I am not a LTD company, I simply go through an umbrella company who take care of all my tax, ni etc.
Does anyone use this structure?

Probably be using something like a corporate partner. Unless you are earning serious 6 figure income unlikely to be worth it and the set up and running costs will be high. Also more at risk of review by HMRC , but that is not to say its illegal.
Use of a Ltd company may get you similar savings providing you can avoid IR35 issues legitimately.0 -
The difference with this is that I won't be setting myself up as an LLP - it's going through a company called Rousseau International who in turn use an Umbrella company called Barclay Carter to pay me.0

Sounds pointless to me. You're either in IR35 or you are not regardless of structure, it's about the contract. In any case, now that HMRC have finally published figures on IR35 tax take and cases it looks like they have more or less given up on it so less of a worry than it was say 5 years ago.Hideous Muddles from Right Charlies0

Rousseau International appear to be based offshore. They do not list the names of the directors on their website so one would assume the owners are all unqualified. What recourse will you have through the courts and professional bodies in the UK if this turns out to be a scam?0

I would not bother, there have been so many tales of illegal practices through layers of umbrella companies based out of the UK. At the end of the day they will come for you if there is a problem, not the directors who will probably disappear.
Keep what you have if it works, for the sake of a few hundred quid a month, it's definitely not worth it.0
