37p Chart CD's from sainsburys!

I have just returned from my local Sainsburys store in Warrington. My son is very into Greenday and I thought I would surprise both of them with a CD - especially at 37p each. I went and picked the last 2 up and took them to a till to enquire about the price. They scanned it and it came up with £6.99. I said a friend had purchased one in Leeds and was told that it could be because that store have too much stock or the person putting the prices into the database had got it wrong. They were adamant that the price was £6.99. Needless to say, I didn't get any.

Cheers to OP, I picked up Green Day today from White Rose. It wasn't 39p though it scanned through at sixty something pence, But hey I'm not complaining
I didn't see any of the Other CD's and Wakefield Sainsbury's had a terrible and tiny CD section with nothing in.

Wahayy... Thats a brilliant offer. I will try and get down begining of next week. Hope theres some left.TommyMortimer wrote:I have just been to the Sainsburys Savacentre at the WhiteRose centre in Leeds to buy some CD's. I took the 'International Superhits - Greenday' album to the checkouts with a £6.99 sticker on it, and when I got to the checkout it scanned through at 37p! The lad at the checkout called his supervisor to check it and the supervisor said this is right, and that Sainsburys are selling all the CD lines that are due to end soon for 37p because of excess stock! He also said that this wasn't advertised so that the shelves wouldn't clear instantly (knowings sainsburys current problems), and it was just to surprise the customers that were willing to pay the full price for the CD's origionally! I asked him if any other cd's had this offer and he sed yes, but he wasn't allowed to tell me which ones because I may go and buy them all. I'm not sure if its just the Savacentres or not, but if you live near Leeds then get yourself down there!0

just been in the doncaster town centre sainsburys and they didnt even have the greenday album. and there was no reference to any of the cds being reduced. didnt fancy the embarassment of getting to the till and the cds being full price!
they did howver have boxes of 5 cd-rewritable disks - £7.99 but 75% off which makes em £2. bargain i'd say. didnt really need any tho0 -
so i went to the white rose centre, and to my shock there were no green day left!! had plenty of bjork, feeder, others, but i dont think they were reduced. damn, i missed those bargains!0

Doesn't seem to be any cd offers in the London area
I find Sainsburys can actually be pretty good for cheap chart albums if you haven't got the time to order online.0
