dual slow cooker help

i have a duel slow cooker it has two compartments (one bout 4 ltr one 2 ltr) do i have to have food in both sides or can i just fill 4ltr side up
ie will not using the 2ltr side break it?????
i know i need to get some freezer storage containers but before i do i cant make any extra food

I would put a bit of water in the empty compartment because I don't like running the slowcooker dry. Have you looked in the instructions?0

I've got one like that, I never put anything in the other side if I'm not using it- not been a problem so far.0
