Typical Tesco's cockup :-). What's even more funnier is that the "Big Price Drop" reduction on the 1kg bag is a massive 1p!!! lol.0

why not go for the value range one - even cheaper than buying the 2 500g bags
1 kilo standard £1.62
2 500 kg bags £1.54
value range 1 kilo £1.29

Actually, I did notice in my local Big Tesco that they had big bags of 'broken basmati rice' for sale as well. A 20kg bag was £9 (I think). No idea what it's like mind you.0 -

It has been reported that some prices of the price drop items were increased before reduction so as to make the bargain price drop seem better.0 -

This is a old sales technique, when I was a gal my dad was as salesman for an office equipment company and it was standard practice to quote a higher price then say as it is you I will give you a discount or appear to be haggled down to get the price it was before you walked in the door. As an adult no sales man got away with that one with me least I do not think so........lolI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0
