don't know where else to put this.
At work we have a business casual dress code in place.
I wear my thick coat everyday with a jumper on and i'm still cold. It's been like this for a while. But most other people are warm so i'm in the minority.
We have been told we cannot wear our coats now but i'll be really cold. Where do I stand on this?

HSE website - temperatures at work.
You could wear a couple of thin layers under your jumper (more than one thin layers are more effective in keeping you warm than one thick jumper), or maybe look at the material of jumpers you wear? Could you have a medical reason causing the coldness? Also what about waistcoat type of things?Torgwen.......... ...........0 -
yeah, layering's the way forward.
in fairness, the employer can't really turn the heat up, as it would make everyone else uncomfortable, so about your only option is to layer things under a jumper til you look like a yeti0 -
I do have an underactive thyroid. do you think i could use that against them?Converted comper to MSE. Thank you for all your answers!0

I've got Raynauds and I really feel the cold at times. I work from home but I don't like turning the heating up, as then the rest of the family complain that they are too hot!
Instead I wear lots of thin layers,
you'd be surprised at how much warmer you feel with a thin camisole top under your clothes, or buy thermal ones which are warmer still.
thick socks over normal socks when my feet are cold,
a bodywarmer (keeps me warm, but my arms are still free for working!), fingerless gloves (can style type with them on!)
a fleece hat if I'm really cold.
It keeps me warm as I find wearing a coat in the house too bulky. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Unless you want to boil your co workers who are already warm enough, why don't you simply buy some thermal longjohns and/or thermal tshirt to wear under your shirt and jumper? Why would you want to use your medical problems 'against' anyone? Do you hate your co workers that much, because they are the ones who would suffer if the company agreed to turn the temperature up!
Is there something I'm missing here?0 -

Assuming you are on medication for your condition, It would make more sense to get your thyroxin levels adjusted to compensate. Most effects of an underactive thyroid can be adjusted out by closely montoring your levels.
If your levels are good, then all I can suggest is that you do as others have suggested and wear thin layers. My family has a lot of thyroid problems, but are too mean to overheat our homes to compensate so many of them wear the new lightweight thermal items (some are incredibly thin) if they start to feel cold effects.
