A couple of years ago the Natural History Museum started a range of gifts based around nature, recycing etc. One range consisted of a recycled cardboard box containing seeds of one type or another (banana plant, rose bush or xmas tree) and a bag of compost made from either Elephant, Reindeer or Rhino dung. These things cost about £5 each which is not all that cheap for what it is, BUT one year I had my boss as secret santa who was a keen gardener. She appeared to like the thought I put into the item. My boss had given me s**t for years. This is the first and last time I have given anyone s**t for Christmas, but it was deserved and still puts a smile on my face when I think about it.

Maybe not the most pleasent of secret santa's, but one that many may find useful.
