CO hair washing - does anyone actually do this?

I used to CO wash and I used the cheapest conditioner from Tesco and one from Boots, I did feel I needed a 'proper' wash every few weeks plus I colour every 4-6 weeks so I need to shampoo then anyway. I found it good but very boring and my hair still wasn't quite right I have 2a/b hair type so now I use Tigi Superstar shampoo and conditioner (no cones) but I only wash my hair once every week at the most I could easily stretch it to two weeks if I needed to with the aid of dry shampoo, for our hair type I would highly recommend no heat and no towel rubbing and as little as possible washing and touching, a product I found very useful also was Tesco/Morrisons value gel which is super cheap and has no alcohol in it so it tames hair but doesn't make it crispy, sometimes I would mix this with a bit of serum but I no longer need either of these products anymore:).Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Been Co-ing for years. Using cone free products - cheap morrisons mostly. Solved problem of tight, overwashed itchy scalp and stopped the fly-away coarse grey hairs. Definitely leaved the hair feeling slightly heavier & less flyaway. I mostly put my hair up so that has helped. Would NEVER go back to strong sqeaky-clean shampoo washing, WAY too harsh & drying for hair and scalp. My hair is in great condition."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0

Its interesting because I found co washing left my hair feeling lighter and more flyaway which is why I need a bit of gel etc, dd found (she has type 1 hair) it didnt agree with her hair at all but my itchy scalp soon went, I put it down to the lack of harsh chemicals but in fact once I started using shampoo (cone free) a bit more the itchiness never returned, but it did the day after I blow dried my hair for the first time in months, never again:eek: as with most hair and beauty - its trial and error and each to thier own:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -
I love CO washing and I can honestly say it saved my bleached hair. I didn't realise quite how curly my hair was until I co-ed. I always thought it was naturally frizzy, turns out its the sulphates that made me look like a cavewoman!
It takes a bit of experimenting, finding the right conditioner mainly, and having time to let it sit and do its thing. Have you ever noticed that some conditioners are more "foamy" than others? They often make the best co washes.0 -
i did this for couple of times but my hair began to become dirty very soon, so now i use a conditioner on hair roots but only after washing my hair with shampoo:) i think co-washing is perfect only for really dry hair:j0

I really don't think I could do this with my hair - I get a bit antsy if I leave it for a few days....0
