The Bank of England will announce its latest monetary policy decision at midday, with economists waiting to see if the central bank introduces more quantitative easing (QE).
The Bank has already pumped £200bn into the economy by buying assets such as government bonds, in an attempt to boost lending by commercial banks.
There has been much speculation that it will announce a further £50bn of QE.
The Bank is also expected to hold interest rates at 0.5%.
Now or later that is the question... not if!

I am surprised it was this month.
But glad I just purchased something in $'s before the announcement.0 -
Of course, we will now see people being interviewed on tv. The 'normal man or woman' who questions how they can "find" £75bn when their local surgery is cutting back.
I suspect the response will be "don't worry, it's a different type of money, all too complex to explain to you mere mortals".
A bit like the wrong sort of leaves on the line, but the trains still end up stopping

Interesting, expecting inflation to go up, but drop beginning of 2012.
Good job we are not in the euro, they have increased rates and not injected anything! NICEEPlan
