im going to the birmingham one.

I go to cake shows there (i know its not the same!) but if its anything like it, then i think its worth it.

One thing im expecting though.....is a big crowd and pushy brides to get to the sale dresses.....not looking forward to that!

I went to last years. It's good if you want a specific dress because they'll be discounted there.

I wanted to look at BM dresses and I didnt see a single one.

Mostly it was overpriced designer stuff and things that included stupidly expensive personalised sugar sachets and big personalised carpet aisle runners!!
I did get my headpiece from there though but it wasnt cheap.

I went to the London one and it was brilliant. Went on Sunday and was there for 10am when it opened and it wasn't busy at all, got bit busier in the afternoon but wasn't cramped at all. Loads of freebies (magazines and food and stuff) and loads of leaflets and ideas. I found my dream bridesmaid dresses at mine :) I'd definitely recommend it

  • Decided to go :) it was good, lots of freebies and ideas :)

    Hope you had fun becca!
  • we went to the Harrogate one, look out for offers such as bride goes free with one paying adult..

But well worth it, we ate enough free stuff to cover the cost of tickets, candyfloss, popcorn, chocolates, oddly cereal in our goodie bags, canapes, champagne... I also got my engagement ring cleaned (looked better than ever!) and entered a comp (well entered lots!) but won one, to have a close up magician at the wedding!

Which isn't something I would have ever paid for but I was stupidly impressed by him, and am over the moon he's going to be at my drink reception now!

So all in all well worth it, even my partner had a great time!

  • i went to the nec one last yr- was disappointed really- but i already had my dress n i knew i wud get stuff a lot cheaper on ebay which i did
was a nice day out though
one thing i wud say- take a big bag- you get loads of leaflets- and maybe half way through the day sit down and take all your leafets and throw away the ones your wont use/read- there will be a lot- and saves you carrying them around

  • I went to the Birmingham one yesterday, first wedding show I'd been to, and since you didn't need to make appointments I tried on a LOT of dress styles (fitted, halterneck, princess, lace, empire...) and ended up putting a deposit down on one!! It was a hard decision to make, and the dress was nothing like "the dress" I had in my head (floaty chiffon with lace detail) - but I tried a style of "the dress" and was quite underwhelmed by it. Then the guy bought out something I would have glossed over as it was quite simple, but the reaction it got from mum, mum-in law and best mate (and me) was just wow.

Feel a bit strange, as I thought the hunt wouldn't have really started until November, and I imagined making lots of appointments and trying on more detailed sparkly dresses, so I have to let those plans go - but my mum said "anyone can look like a princess with a sparkly dress, you need to find a dress that makes you look like a bride"...

Dress tangent aside, impressed with the freebies, the cosmo bride offer, not so much impressed with the queue for food - three quarters of an hour for a spud with cheese, and they only have one poor guy in charge of serving them up, who couldn't have gone any slower if he tried!!
Do good deeds and you could raise the curtain, do good deeds and you could really raise your life....
