Thanks FF, we now have a newest thread thingy so that will make life easier, but I do miss the other buttons lolThink it's about time the comping fairy remembered where I am! lol0
-
I think all of the ordering options (including the links kindly posted above) are about listing in the order they were posted rather than the order of end date.
Am I missing something or does this all mean we can no longer order threads by end date? So end date compers will be stuffed? Particularly at the end of the month when there are too many comps to search on a date? (Not that searching on the date has ever worked very well for me but that may just be me!)0 -
[STRIKE]This is a new puzzle in Best mag and not being into the whole celebrity thing I have no idea who they are.
Any help would be appreciated
Actually, maybe the first could be Frank Lampard?
And on doing a bit of googling, Tess Daly for number 4??[/STRIKE]
Thanks to **WonderfulWife88** for finding the answers :TA strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others.0 -
Not sure there is any appetite here to talk about comping, rather than just posting comps, but thought I'd give it a go.
I've recently returned to the comping fold after a ten year gap, and the world has changed completely! When I was doing it previously, it was a case of collecting leaflets, buying products and slaving over slogans. I was reasonably successful, winning a HiFi [now even THAT dates me!] bicycle, weekends away and numerous smaller prizes. I still have the comp books in which I recorded all my slogans, and the letters enclosed within the 'Long White Envelopes' telling me what I'd won!
Now, the days of leaflets and slogans are dead and gone it seems. I've signed up to competitors Companion online, and entering a comp is almost invariably just a question of filling your detials in on an online form. Occasionally I come across one that requires a slogan or other 'exercise of skill and judgement' but these are very few and far between.
Seems a shame to me. I don't get much satisfaction out of filling in forms, whereas I used to enjoy inventing slogans! What do you think?0 -

hiya,
yep, we do talk about comping/compsbut it's mostly in
the comps discussions here..
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3530941
majority of comps i do require a lot of working out & take
a lot of time up as they're crossword/puzzle comps
so suppose it depends on which ones you enter/do
will pm a BG (Glad) to have moved for you to comps disc

Daphne I've got best mag and come up with the following:
A - Simon Cowell
B - Frankie from The Saturdays
C - *think* Jason Gardiner
D - Tess Daly
Hope this helps!:silenced:0 -
Ok, having been googling and getting Hubby to have a look, scrap C - Jason Gardiner, we think it's Ryan Thomas (Jason Coronation Street) from here.

I do agree, I remember the long white envelopes and the slogan books, the prizes were fewer but bigger then.
Having said that I am getting more wins on line, especially facebook so although it is more routine it is more rewarding from a prize point of view!:)0
