    Hi everyone

Great bargain Jane! :j I wish I was as confident when it comes to ebay...I'd love to get rid of half this junk in the house!

Took me ages to get online tonight. I phoned virgin yesterday and they said it was a problem my end. I'm not convinced :o Only happened after I firmly told a virgin saleswoman for the third time that I wasnt interested in her sales calls! Getting sick of the sales calls again, PPI, gas etc. :(

The kindle I ordered yesterday afternoon from amazon came today with postie! That was quick! Just wish he would have knocked with it though instead of throwing it through letter box with KINDLE written in big letters on side. :o I hope it's working ok.

My DH would like a Kindle but I don't know if he would really like using it. Is it for yourself?

  • Evening all, been a rollercoaster of a week here. As I mentioned before DH had a 'surprise' planned for me which I was very impatient to find out what it was. Anycase, kids went to MIL's & I got whisked away to Bridlington on Tuesday, to see JOHN BARROWMAN in concert - which was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! Went to stage door afterwards & got to say Hello to him which made the day even more fab. He couldn't stop for personal photos/autographs as his next stop was Edinburgh but he promised to sign my programme if I posted it off to him.

I was still on a high the following day when I got a call to say my sister was in hospital, her waters have broken at 30+2 so she's currently on maternity ward at hospital. She is not in labour yet but given her past history (Her son was born at 23+4 in 2006, sadly he only lived for 3 days) she is being monitored. Originally we were told she'd only be in for 24 hours, then 48 hours but now we've been told she'll be for at least a week. Baby (Isobel/Izzy) has been given steroid drugs to strenghen lungs in case of early labour but at the moment all is well & it's just a waiting game.

Please keep her in your thoughts & prayers tonight!

Am going to slowly try catch up on here for a bit, got woken up for hotel fire alarm & had to go outside in PJ's at 3am this morning (think someone was trying to light a cigarette) & then a train got cancelled on way home so been one of them days lol

We want a Kindle as OH is registered blind in one eye and partially sighted in the other. He struggles with books because of the size of the print so we wondered if on a kindle he could make the text big enough for him to cope with and go at his pace. Not done much comping today so will have to catch up at some point

Hope alls well with your sis and the baby pms xx Glad you had a great time at John Barrowman's concert :)

The kindle is for my DD sheils. She is like a bookworm, always reading! I know a lot of people who like reading prefer the old traditional books but I think DD will like it. I'm trying to think of things to get her for xmas thats not gonna cost the earth! I expect all her classmates will be getting iPads etc but she never asks for anything except hinted at liking moshi monsters! :D

Becks, I think you can get a magnifying kindle that might be suitable for your OH. Although the one I got DD is only 7" screen but is the latest slimline one. Cost £89 free delivery from amazon.

Hi Amilucky  great song to kick off the evening :) Hope your lovely wife is doing great ;)
