CRB CHECK, Will it show?

I have an interview for a job on Friday.

I'm contemplating whether or not to go as I need to do a crb check.

I served 6 months of a 15 month sentence in 1999 for class a with intent.

Major mistake in my youth when I was a stupid 17 year old.

I also got a fine for Affray about 6 years ago.

Will any of this show in a standard check?

    on a enhanced check they will both show.

    was there not a space on application form for you to declare any of these.

    depends what the job is whether it will make any difference.

    my brother has offences from his youth and he always declared them and it has never stopped him getting the job

    What I would say is that you need to be upfront about this if they are doing an enhanced check. I'd take advice from NACRO.

    Its a basic disclosure with only about 8 questions.

    I did tell the interviewer and he he said it shouldn't show.

    The job involves entering commercial premisses including schools to check electric meters.

    So will have to declare it now anyway.

    I was under the impression if it was spent I didn't have to but I also read that if you committed another offence within a certain time scale they would both show.

    a enhanced disclosure shows everything even cautions, nothing is counted as spent.

    i assume you entering a school, then you will have a enhanced disclosure

    Been told It's only a basic one but It was another guy in the agency.

    Will speak to the guy who is interviewing tomorrow.

    It depend what you mean by spent. Only certain youth sentences are actually spent, and those won't show on the regular, but will on the enhanced. Any sentence received when over 18 can not be spent, and will always appear. Because the sentence has been served or has expired does not mean it's spent.

    Not sure what you mean by the text I have highlighted.

    The CRBS website includes,
    The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (ROA), states that some offences will become “spent” after a certain period of time. If an individual’s conviction(s) becomes “spent” they do not need to disclose this when applying for either a paid or volunteering position. However, some positions are exempt from the ROA which means if applying to work/volunteer in these positions you need to disclose all your convictions (those that are spent and unspent). Positions that are exempt from the ROA include those that involve work with children and protected adults. If an employer is asking someone to work in an exempted position they are entitled to ask the exempted question; ask for both spent and unspent conviction information to be disclosed by the applicant.
