please help- a debt collection agency has a walking possession order for me- i agreed with htis. my husband and i made a payment agreement. we have stuck to it since summer when it happened. have been trying to make a payment since xmas. they not answering phone or put us on hold then hang up. today my husband finally get throughto be told they passed us to the local bailiff. we rang him, he said he didn't want to hear our excuses, and had added another£111 to the debt, which we had nearly cleared. he came round today whilst i was out collecting kids from school. they left a note saying next time they will break in.
what can we do?? we are going to CAB in orning as husband has day off. please help. i can't stop crying.

Firstly, is this in relation to an unpaid council tax bill, and has a court previously issued a liability order?, also has the Bailiff actually even gained peaceful entry to the premises in the past ? It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them :rolleyes:0

You definately need to see the face to face adviser..
Try to find out the following:
1. Who was the original debt to... your post is ambiguous.. If it is a credit debt then it would be county court bailiffs and Ive never heard of them being so aggresive or nasty (as they deal with credit typ debts)... so it suggests to me, private bailiffs, but these collect for unpaid council tax or Magistrates Court Fines for example (things heard in the criminal court)
Private bailiffs are agressive... If this is the case then you def need to sort out ASAP.. if they have a WPA (which means any goods listed on the inventory now in effect belng to the bailiffs and you are merely minding them)...then they can legally force entry...
If you have any paperwork relating to this along with a copy of the WPA, take it with you to the CAB, also take proof of income and any other debts you have .. the income so they can assist in working out how much you can afford to repay... the other debts, cos they may be able to help you with these as well..
CAB should look at the big picture rather than this one issue... Good luck...Hi - im a member of the Debt Help UK FORUM...0 -

just spoken to someone from norwich city council- they are not happy with rossendales, under they're contract with them, rossendales are only allowed to charge 50% of the outstanding balance to send the van. the charge they added yesterday works out at a whopping 120%. now waiting to speak to the bailiff to pay off the whole debt so we have to have no more dealings with this company made up of under-handed dealing scum.
thank- you and lots of love and cyber hugs to everyone:beer:0
