I got the 750 points, but not the £7.50 discount, even though it showed the discount on my confirmation email.

Open another account with a different email address, and a different variation of your name.

I recently swopped my clubcard vouchers for a Holiday online. Obviosly I was left with the "spent" vouchers which can't be used in Tesco and I enquired if anyone knew of a competitor who would accept these.

I was advised that ASDA took them and managed to shift a few but with massive conditions so I sold them on Ebay for a pittance in the hope that someone would benefit.

Today I needed some petrol after visiting The London motorcycle show and stopped off at random at Siansburys Beckton who are displaying a "USE YOUR TESCO VOUCHERS HERE " banner.

I don't know what restrictions there are but presume it is due to a Large Tesco being nearby.

    Hope this helps someone.

PS please advise if there are conditions as I will be having new vouchers to swap this month..TA!
  • Hi All,

I hope you can help me, I cannot get any of the Tesco online discount codes to be accepled that are posted on the forums. A message tells me that the code must be wrong or out of date. Even the free delivery code is not accepted, what's going wrong??

Hopefully - it's obviously a glitch as amount for voucher should read 0.01p but it depends whether it gets picked up at the Tesco's end. If it doesn't then it should go through as the invoices/codes/discounts are computer generated. I've ordered but my delivery isn't coming until 12 Feb - but if points and discounts are not on receipt I will ask the driver to take the delivery back.

Also, if you are planning to order - I have posted a free delivery code on the codes thread which is XYVZ4RBXYMPD. I had banked this code previously and forgotten about it. This worked with the 750 points code, so all in all I ended up with a £12.50 discount as well as 750 points.;)

I used the xxc37d coupon too and my order arrived yesterday. The 750 points had been credited but no £7.50 discount (had I known that prior to placing my order I would have used a 1000 point code instead). Even though like you said this code was obviously a 'glitch' I sent an e-mail to Tesco customer services (cutting and pasting my order summary) and asking them to honour the amount they had confirmed the order at.

I received a reply stating that I wasn't allowed to use two separate coupons in an order - as my my order was below £99 the 'free delivery' coupon was invalid and the 750 points WAS my £7.50 discount.

Well this is complete rubbish, firstly for a limited period up until January 28th ALL wine orders placed qualified for free delivery - above or below £99. This was done automatically by their system and the customer did not have to add a code or coupon. Secondly, re the xxc37d coupon - if the 750 points was my discount then why was £7.50 deducted from the total amount once my order was confirmed?

Anyway I've just written back to them to point these facts out. Obviously I realise that the coupon was faulty but since it was an error on their side shouldn't they honour our orders at the price and terms they confirmed? If not then in future I guess that whatever price they confirm our orders at we just have to take as a rough guideline?!!

Whilst I am sypathetic with your plight, would it not be easier just to 'let it go'. There must be more important things to do or get worked up over.

If you want to get even, then I would suggest you join https://www.paidtoshop.co.uk and learn about combining different vouchers together and combining them with BOGOF's to get free shopping/ opening virtual accounts to duplicate the busing of best vouchers/ wombling etc etc.

I managed 33,000 points this quarter without too much trouble which is worth £1320 in Clubcard Deals.

    regards

Thanks for your post and letting everyone know about your experience and I agree with your comments that it's their glitch and it should be honoured.

Sometimes we just try and see what happens and, like you, report back whether it's good or bad. I learned this way on one of my orders but now I know I can refuse a delivery if the amount/points don't add up. I avoid contacting CS myself as advice is not to draw too much attention to yourself especially if you are using a code that hasn't been sent to you.;)

Shouldn't this be on the Tesco morals forum? Am I understanding correctly that you got the benefit of the vouchers by booking a holiday and then thought you should use them again in another supermarket?

Don't quite know how you kept a straight face when you presented these, even if legally it may not be fraud I'm not sure I would want to try it myself, some might think it's a little underhand.
