Conductive Gel

I have a Elysee electrolysis hair removing kit and I need to buy some conductive gel for it, the gel Elysee sells is very expensive, I have seen various places selling conductive gel for various uses like ab conditioners etc, is all conductive gel the same? or does it have to be specific to it's application.
Any brand recommendations from anyone who uses it for electrolysis would be welcome.

I think you will get away with using something like KY (or a cheaper substitute) though have not used for electrolysis personally, only a Slendertone gadget but the principle is the same i.e. you need something to transmit the electric current .0
