Altnagelvin hospital q? Maternity related

Hi, I am having an elective c-section in altnagelvin. It is not my local hospital but as I have complications I thought it would be better to deliver there. Just wondering of peoples experiences there in postnatal ward. How late dad is allowed to stay in postnatal ward following section? Would also like to know if it is possible to book a private room to stay in during stay or first night or so?
Was up with consultant yesterdat but had so many qs about other things to do with the surgery. (Have to have something else done at same time) that I didn't get round to these other more 'housekeeping' questions.
I know its not moneysaving related but hoped someone would be able to share their knowledge/experiences.

Sorry I can't answer specifically about Altnagelvin but I know that at the Ulster, if possible they put post-op mums on the ward and not in a room on their own.
The night I went in to be induced a girl was brought in complete with screaming baby quite late at night after her c-section. The poor girl could barely do a thing but it meant if she needed anything or if something happened, there was a chance one of the other 5 on the ward would help.0 -
Video just put up here last week, maternity is the first service to be done, you are in luck
Others will appear over time when we get the chance.

Partners in Maternity wards are allowed to visit 1pm to 9:30pm and obviously all times during your procedure.
Maternity Services are now in the new South Wing of the hospital, all new and fresh facilities, and a big improvement from the previous wards:T Most of the rooms are single and on-suite now, but there are some 4 bed rooms still. Try the website for more info
