The European stock markets are taking a real pounding today as well. The FTSE is currently down 4% to 4870.

No need to panic. All it takes is for someone to mention printing money and there will be a rally back on.

    £50bn?

Come on. They'll sell out at a rate of knots. That's peanuts. They are calling for £300bn+

Hamish is rather hopefull of receiving a cheque for a few grand from her majesty.

No, not considering I sold out at a near 50% loss on one share yesterday no!

Glad I did though. Of course I was utterly idiotic to sell out, apparently, but would have been down 56% now.

Ahh well, at least general prices will be be "falling" next year, as the rate of inflation will be at approx 3.5% apparently.

An economist actually stated that on the radio. Didn't even get picked up on it.

I heard some dimwit woman "economics expert reporter" say something very similar on LBC.

    I blame the universities.

Was the said share down 6% today after previously being 50% down against original purchase? Or is it 56% down against original purchase price?

You know how you get confused.

I notice most of my local garages have decided to mark this momentous occasion by adding between 2 and 3 pence to the price of a litre.

How cheap does oil actually have to get before this frackers actually reduce the cost of petrol at the pumps?

why reduce the price of petrol when people will still buy it regardless... if you need transport you use the car, how many people lay off the right foot, to make it use less fuel... not that many. So until people reduce consumption considerably, then nothing will change.
