Rough idea of household bills

I currently own my own home but am looking to move to the Tyneside area and would initially be looking at rented accomodation. I'm trying to work out how much rent I can afford, but I've never dealt with the household bills before (and the house I'm moving from is considerably larger than what I would be moving into so the bills would be massively different anyway) so I have no idea what kind of costs I should be expecting on top of my rent. Can anyone give a rough idea of how much I should be expecting to pay for gas/electric/water/council tax for a 2 bed flat in this area?
Thanks in advance for any answers.

£100 gas and electric
Water - meter around £30 a month.
Of course then you will have telephone, contents insurance,
Council tax - depends on the property.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks, is that £100 each for gas and electric or £100 for both together?0

I lived in a 2 bed flat with a friend and we paid £65 per month for both gas an electricity, £110 council tax, £25 water, £30 virgin (internet, tv, phone line). That was all split 50/50 between us. Our rent was £500pcm of which I paid £275 and my friend paid £225 as I had a much bigger room.0

£100 for gas and electric combined.
Paying £65 a month d/d seems low, just because its £65 on DD doesnt mean that is what you consume. They may well put it up
when a review is done. If you work on £100 budget then if its less, look on it as a bonus.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

This was a couple of years ago. And £65 was our usage. It was more than we used in the summer and less in the winter and so levelled out. We were both out all day though, so our usage was quite low.0 -

I live alone in a flat and by careful usage I have been paying £25 a month for electricty so it covers heating as well (I don't have gas) and am in credit by £20.
To me £65 a month seems massive!

I had a 2 bed flat with storage heaters and everything off the electric as no gas and I was paying around £60 a month and being very careful. That would now be around £80 and paying by direct debit and on the cheapest possible tariff, monitoring usage a few times a week in the beginning to see where excess could be cut back.
Now in a 3 bed house, again with no gas and using oil panel radiators, my costs are around £100 a month. One way to cut back immensely if not on gas is to abandon overnight water storage and go with an instantaneous water heater. From around £500 installed, it saves me over £30 a month and I have truly unlimited hot water 24/7/365.0
