Tesco DTD - mega bloks toy

Hi,

I've just bought a Mega Bloks Play 'n' Go Fire truck from Tesco Oldham - sticker on the box says £12.50 in the half price sale, but went through the till at £20. With DTD, Tesco paid me £2.50 to take it away!!! My LO will love it!

You paid £20 and they refunded you £15, so you actually paid £5 to buy it.

Without sounding pedantic, you actually paid £5 for it as the difference between the sticker price and the scanned price is £7.50 and they would have refunded you double this amount (£15) when you originally laid out £20.

Still a good price though.

not a mathematician but does it not work out at it costing £5

u paid £20 were over charged by £7.50 DTD= £15 back.

I thought it was dtd, so you paid £20 but should have paid £12.50

difference £7.50 x 2 = £15

or am i doing it wrong?

DTD means double the difference.
I too sometimes find DTD refunds a little confusing it often takes me a while to work out wheter i got it free or paid for it.

Double the difference.

If Tesco overcharge you for an item, they will refund you double the difference between the paid price and the advertised price.

unless OP meant it was stickered at @12.50 but placed on the half price aisle, therefore should actually be £6.25.

£20 - £6.25 = £13.75 x 2 = DTD refund of £27.50 (paid £7.50 to take away) Nope thats not right either.
