2 way radios (walkie-talkie) for £3 at Halfords

Just found a few packs of 2 walkie-talkies at Halfords reduced from about £15 to £3.
For some reason they weren't on display at one store and I had to ask but they had plenty in "the cage."
They make perfect kids birthday presents and are great for on holiday when you forget to tell your OH which drink you want from the bar as you lie on the beach!!!
They are the usual 2km range ones*
*for 2km see as far as you can shout;)

They had 3 or 4 different types at that price.
One set I bought was this one : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Binatone-Two-Radio-MR200-Twin/dp/B0000C6ZRB/sr=1-1/qid=1169053932/ref=sr_1_1/202-2893668-2803833?ie=UTF8&s=electronics
Another set was : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Binatone-Two-Radio-MR150-Twin/dp/B000KAYSV2/sr=1-2/qid=1169054116/ref=sr_1_2/202-2893668-2803833?ie=UTF8&s=electronics
None of them are earth shattering or suitable for tekking in Nepal(may be wrong - never tried it) but for 3 quid they seem good value.0 -
I have just back from my halfords and they were marked down to £11.99 from £14.99 (£3 OFF).
I got them to scan them to make sure too.

Sorry to send you on a wild goose chase spookmeister, I must have just been lucky.0

Which store did you get you these at? S.0

I bought one set at Preston Riversway and a further 3 sets at Preston Ribbleton0

Pretty sure I saw £3 3KM range walkie talkies in Superdrug the other day0

Just to note, as I am sure everyone is aware, that 3km range is in good conditions, if you live in a City with lots of things in the way, or just with hills and trees it might be more like to the end of your street.
Of course great for kids so long as it does not microwave their brains! If they are going to play with them a lot less powerful ones may be more suitable.0 -
But then they might not even reach the end of the street !If they are going to play with them a lot less powerful ones may be more suitable.0
