I wanna get Sky TV and Sky+ cheap as poss

hi ya

We're thinking on getting sky plus but want to do it as cheap as poss.

We have sky just now (in H's name) but quidco are offering £50 cash back for new customers , so if I sign up rather than H would I be classed as a new customer? (must be a new customer as they won't speak to me on the phone it has to be H :-[:-[ )

Also we'd like to go to freeview (just take all the free channels ) can we do this then just pay £10 a month for sky+ ?

If I sign up as a new customer do I still have to pay for instalation even though dish etc is all in place?

Anyone know of any other offers arround just now? or recommend a friend offers etc.

Yu will have to get the minimum subscription of £30 a month (one of the sky world packages).
Freesat would be £150 with installation or £20 just for the freesat card if you already have a sat dish and receiver. You won't be able to have Sky+ with free sat.

tbh you're better off getting a PVR with freeview in and paying for a decent aerial!

should have said has to be sky as we aren't in coverage for freeview. But I can just call sky and as for a card to just watch free channels can't I ?? Didn't know they charged for it ?

Is freesat the same as sky??

I've no idea what a PVR box is or what it does can it do exactly as sky+ as in record whole series of a programme, record one channel watch another? Rewind live TV (they are always raving about these things in the adverts)

I'm sure you can't sign up as a new customer. I had trouble a while ago, and said I was going to cancel, and then get my wife to subscribe, but they said no. Can't remember the reason, but I got my cheaper sky because I said I was going to cancel.

if you have sky now just cancel it and you will get all your free channels on sky i did 4 yrs ago i looked into freeview not much different as regards channels.
if you have got an upto date computer the new XP VISTA is supposed to give you all digital channels with a built in recorder as well.
