If you are looking for good quality bras, cheaper than in the shops try Claire at Lingerie Heaven. She has a huge selection in loads of sizes and her measuring guide is fantastic. I went down 2 back sizes and up 3 cup sizes when I first got in touch with her.
Did someone say my name, hi ali-t.
OP, don't get supermarket/chain store bras, they are a false economy and are not good for larger sizes - look for branded bras, in your size look for Panache, Fantasie and Freya. You need to make sure that you are in the right size, you should not have any movement from the band of your bra, it should fit around the middle of your back and not move around.
If you PM me I can make sure you are in the right size - I have some Panache Tango II for £5 in large back sizes, one of the best supporting bras you'll find and I can get up to a 56 back size and KK cup size. They are older colours, nothing wrong with them, but they are past season so they are cheap.
The best bras for larger back sizes are Elomi, they are fairly new and are made by Fantasie.
If you handwash these bras they will last you a good 2 years if your size does not change and the fit on it still be good. Yes you might well pay £12-£15 but they last so much longer because they are made with far superior materials.
PM me if you need help - or if anyone wants to ask questions on bra sizing or fitting then please do.
PS. If you have been measured at: BHS, M&S, La Senza, Evans, Tesco or Asda then I recommend you go and get fitted somewhere like Bravissimo, Debenhams, John Lewis or a small independant - anywhere that does not sell their own brand and one that sells a massive selection of styles and sizes. I have lost count of the number of ladies who have been fitted incorrectly into bras by these retailers (who do so just to get a sale). I have had many a ladies come to see me in a 44/46 band size only to find out that actually they are a 36 or 38. In fact, no-one I have fitted in a 40+ band size has been that size, they have always been a 36 and 38. Recently I fitted a lady into a 38J - she went to Evans 'as she was passing' to get some new bras but they did not stock a 38J so they put her into a 46F.... just for the sake of a sale. But this is why you need to be careful if you have 'fitted' (and I use that term loosely) by these shops.0 -

:o Could I pm you my measurements too?
Of course Bubby, happy to help anyone who needs it. I am on my own personal mission to ensure everyone knows how to measure themselves correctly.
I need you to tell me the measurement under your ribcage - making sure the tape does not rise up but that it runs under and around (look sideways in a mirror if you can, that helps) and make sure the tape is snug - you do not want your band moving around - and then tell me the size and brand of bra you are currently wearing.
Likewise for anyone else.0 -
I have sent you a pm0

Hey, how are you doing? I meant to get in touch with you a few weeks ago to let you know that the strapless bra I got from you was fantastic. It stayed up all night at the wedding and I didn't have to hoik it up at all. :j <- even doing this
For anyone who is thinking I must have small boobs for that to happen, I am a GG cup and it felt as secure as one with straps.
I also don't know Claire outwith buying underwear from her and we live at opposite ends of the country so its a genuine recommendation for a great businesswoman selling fab bras at fantastic prices rather than a cheap plug for a mate :TIf you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
Thanks Ali, I am glad it was perfect for you - it is such a nice bra and so well fitting. I guessed you was busy with life and stuff so don't worry - pretty much the same this end. Went on my girly weekend too, it was amazing. Now want to go back again! We shall see.
Just glad you are happy. Ali has been buying from me for a while since the 'do you know your bra size' thread when I resized her virtually too, I'd like to resize everyone but you can get a feel for it when you know what you are doingIf you cannot find what you are looking for I have plenty of things I can get at a discounted price too. I do not like paying full price either and it is why I sell more discounted ranges. I am a GG and couldn't find anything decent and pretty so went into bra fitting and retailing when my little one was born and here I am now. Just happy to advise where I can.
If you are feeling heavy and saggy, check your size, the band is too big and so the cups do not support. You'll be surprised at how light you feel when you are wering a good fitted bra - you cannot even feel that they are that big.0 -
How do I pm you as I would like some advice too0
