Selling scrap metal in the Highlands

Does anyone know of any scrap metal merchants in the Highlands that will purchase old cans and tins for cash? I know that there are loads of places in England that do it but I can't seem to find somewhere up here that will do it!

Any help or advice would be gratefully received! Thanks!

The only advice I can offer is to look in Yellow Pages or Yel.com, see if there are any scrap metal merchants nearby (by Highlands standards) and give them a ring and ask.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Like the previous poster, I'm afraid I can't offer any specific advice. I can, however, ( ooohhh, sorry for the pun !! ) say that I thought the same thing some time ago - why throw cans + tins into the recycling box if I can get money for them. But when I phoned up a couple of scrap metal dealers they would only deal in quantities of a ton at a time, so rather impractical for your average householder.

Thank you both ... i'll have a look online and see how many there are ... i already phoned one and they said (rather rudely i must add) we don't deal with the public ... only businesses ... i'm going to get one of those can crushers tho and see just how much i can collect while looking ... if not then i'll have saved some space in my weedy box for the council to collect lol
